A group of abandoned factory buildings since converted into stylish commercial space, The Jam Factory embodies an eco-friendly and cost-effective concept whereby original structures, rather than being razed, are renewed and repurposed using innovative construction techniques and materials. The site now comprises galleries, restaurants and specialty shops offering a wide range of items, from books, to home decor, to fashion. Not surprisingly, The Jam Factory has become a favourite gathering place for Bangkok’s design and creative communities.
Hours of operation vary, but most shops and restaurants are open from 11.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. The Jam Factory is across the Chao Phraya River (west side) in Bangkok’s Khlong San district. From Novotel Bangkok Ploenchit Sukhumvit you can easily jump on BTS SkyTrain – Pleonchit station in front of the hotel to Saphan Taksin station, where is connected to Sathorn pier. Take Chao Phraya Express boat from Sathorn pier to Si Phraya Pier and take another ferry to Khlong San Pier. From there the Jam Factory is a few minutes’ walk away. If you take a taxi from the hotel, it would take approximately 30 minutes.
