Be Thrilled: Sam Smith in Thailand for First-Ever Performance
British singer Sam Smith soon will be bringing his pop stylings to Thailand for the very first time. The performer’s Asia concert tour in support of his recording The Thrill of It All makes a stop in Bangkok in late October 2018 at IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani. Novotel Bangkok Ploenchit Sukhumvit warmly welcomes the star. We’re likewise delighted that Bangkok music fans are getting more and more opportunities to experience live performances by major international entertainers.
England native Sam Smith first gained notoriety with his contribution to the 2012 song ‘Latch’ by DJ Disclosure, followed by a featured performance on the number-one single ‘La La La’ by Naught Boys. In 2014, Smith continued his mix of pop, soul, and R&B styles on his own full-length recording In the Lonely Hour. The album’s chart-topping singles included ‘Lay Me Down’, ‘Money on My Mind’, ‘Stay with Me’, ‘I’m Not the Only One’ and ‘Like I Can’. By then the young singer had firmly established himself in the upper echelons of pop music. Indeed, after winning a 2014 British Critics’ Choice Award and topping the BBC’s Sound of 2014 poll, his superstar status was confirmed in 2015 when Smith received no less than four Grammy Awards.
Now on a world tour following the release of his second album, The Thrill of It All, Smith certainly has been exciting long-time fans and winning over new ones. Concert-goers enjoy impassioned performances of previous hits along with singles from The Thrill of It All such as ‘Too Good at Goodbyes’, which topped the charts in the UK and reached number four in the US.
The good news for pop music fans in this part of the world is Smith’s upcoming extensive tour of Asia – including a date set for right here in Bangkok. The Thrill of It All Asia concert tour lands in Bangkok on Sunday, 28 October 2018 at IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani. It’s a great chance to enjoy a superstar performer as well as one of the most spectacular live productions on tour.
Although the concert venue is approximately 20 kilometres from Novotel Bangkok Ploenchit Sukhumvit, getting to IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani from our hotel is easier than you might think. You can take BTS SkyTrain from directly adjacent Ploenchit Station nine stops to Mo Chit Station, and from there use Impact Arena’s own Impact Link shuttle service. Otherwise, a metered taxi ride from the hotel to Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani will take 45 minutes to one hour depending on traffic.
